Aaron Becking appointed vice-principal at Winston Churchill High School

Lethbridge School Division is pleased to announce Aaron Becking has been appointed vice-principal at Winston Churchill High School, commencing the 2023/2024 school year.
Committed to helping students reach their full potential, Becking is a strong advocate for developing relationships and encouraging life-long learning. He is a “connector” with an unwavering student-centred approach. Energetic and passionate about everything he does as an educator, Becking is a driver of student engagement, will face challenges head on, and seek positive solutions. He promotes student autonomy and encourages sound decision-making strategies so youth can grow to lead to healthy, active, and successful lives.
Becking has demonstrated strong leadership in any role he assumes including committee work, resource development, and coaching. He has a deep respect for diversity and thrives in a school community that is inclusive.
Part of the Churchill family since 2018, Becking feels honoured to work with the talented and caring staff and privileged to assume a leadership role to serve students, families and staff with a dedicated administrative team.
“I am honoured and thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to work with the Churchill community as vice-principal,” said Becking. “The Churchill Family is full of incredible staff, and I look forward to working collaboratively with them to ensure our students continue to reach their full potential. It is of utmost importance to me to support the staff, students, and families of Churchill and to continue to contribute to all of the amazing work that has been done to make Churchill a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for all students.”
For the past nine years, Becking has had the incredible opportunity to teach both middle school and high school on the north side in Lethbridge. Within that time frame he was assigned roles as a physical education teacher, shop teacher, Learning Support Teacher, literacy teacher and behaviour support teacher.
Becking graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a B.A. in Kinesiology and a B. Ed. Majoring in Physical Education with minors in CTS and English Language Arts. He is currently working on his Masters in Educational Leadership with Gonzaga University.
