AI Committee

We are excited to announce the formation of an AI Committee within our school division and are seeking a diverse group of individuals to join us. We are looking for people who possess a deep understanding of current AI practices and policies, or who have a strong interest in the ethical uses of AI in education. This committee will play a crucial role in shaping the future of AI integration in our schools, ensuring that it is used responsibly and effectively to enhance the learning experience for all students. If you are passionate about AI and its potential to transform education, we encourage you to apply and be part of this important initiative.

Goals of the Committee:

  • Ensure the responsible and ethical integration of AI technologies in the educational environment.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that safeguard student privacy and data security.
  • Enhance the learning experience by leveraging AI to provide personalized and adaptive learning opportunities for students.
  • Promote digital literacy among both students and staff, ensuring they are well-equipped to navigate and utilize AI tools effectively.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, encouraging ongoing research and development in AI applications within the education sector.
  • Communicate how AI is used in schools at different levels to ensure transparency and understanding among all stakeholders.
  • Provide resources to teachers that inform them about current trends in AI and available resources.

Committee application

We want to thank everyone who put their name forward for the AI committee. We had over a hundred applicants and had to limit the number of individuals who could participate. We have selected our committee and informed those individuals through email. The first AI committee meeting will be held in person at 1:30 PM on November 13 at the Ed Center Board Room, 433 15 Street S, Lethbridge. An agenda with an RSVP will be sent out in the following weeks, but please save the date.

We believe that all information and insights will be valuable to the division moving forward. If you applied but were not selected, we still encourage you to provide feedback to the group to help guide their direction. Please take a moment to fill out the surveys below.
