Lakie students wow elementary audience with series of performances
On Wednesday, students from G.S. Lakie Middle School stopped by for a series of musical performances at three westside elementary schools.
Lakie musicians began the morning at Coalbanks, before wrapping things up with trips to Mike Mountain Horse and Nicholas Sheran. This is the 17th year Lakie has made the trek to westside Division schools to help promote music education.
After the shows, the group packed up for a trip to Edmonton, which will see students play four concerts in the provincial capital, which will include one performance at West Edmonton Mall.
This year, Lakie is also out promoting its new Modern Music Academy for Grade 7 and Grade 8 students. The academy will bring together Lakie's Guitar Program and the Rock N' Roses Singers Program to create an exciting, high-energy experience.
