Jenn Giles appointed vice-principal at Fleetwood-Bawden Elementary School

Lethbridge School Division is pleased to announce Jenn Giles has been appointed vice-principal at Fleetwood-Bawden Elementary School, commencing the 2023/2024 school year.
Her leadership style is characterized by an open and approachable nature. She places the development of relationships as the foundation of good practice and her subsequent work with students and staff is guided by her deep understanding of pedagogy.
Giles is a reflective practitioner with a curious nature. Her curiosity and genuine interest in learning contributes to a culture where innovation, inquiry and growth are valued and supported. Jenn believes in walking alongside staff to build capacity. She sees collaboration as the best structure for optimal learning and works with staff to frame a structure that works best for the staff, for groups and individuals.
Giles is passionate, engaging and committed. She has demonstrated success leading professional learning in the areas of numeracy, technology, and Thinking Classrooms. 
“I am deeply honoured to be joining the Fleetwood-Bawden School staff and grateful for the opportunity to serve this dedicated and collaborative school community as vice-principal,” said Giles. “I am eager to support and continue the school’s vision and commitment to high quality inclusive practices, student achievement and embracing diversity.”
Her teaching experiences spans elementary and middle school grades. As the Division Numeracy Lead Teacher for three years, she gained a breadth of experience leading curriculum initiatives and delivering workshops. In her current position as vice-principal of Senator Joyce Fairbairn, Giles continues to lead the school initiatives linked to numeracy and literacy, oversees learning supports in the school, and provide instructional support.
Giles completed a Bachelor of Science degree followed by a Bachelor of Education with the University of Lethbridge. She earned her Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership with the University of Lethbridge.
