Importance of Daily Health Checklist highlighted by Lethbridge School Division

Thank you for your patience and support as we continue to work through Alberta Health Services directives with respect to how we support a healthy school.
As we implement the most recent COVID-19 Alberta Health Daily Checklist we recognize how important parent/guardian due diligence and support is in completing this document daily with your child(ren).
Please take some time to review the questions that parent/guardians should be considering prior to sending your child(ren) off to school daily. You will need to consider the following:

  1. Has your child(ren) been a household contact of a case of COVID-19 in the last 14 days?
  2. Is your child(ren) not fully immunized (a person who has not received the complete vaccine series for COVID-19 and it has not been 14 days after the second dose in a two-dose series)?
  3. Does your child have any new onset or worsening of the following: Fever, Cough, Shortness of breath, Loss of smell or taste, Chills, Sore throat, Feeling unwell, Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Loss of appetite, Muscle joint aches, Headache

Based upon these three considerations, families are encouraged to work through the screening questions contained within the Daily Checklist. Responses to these questions could require a student to stay at home and monitor for 24 hours, isolate for 10 days or obtain a COVID-19 test. Regardless, if your child is exhibiting illness symptoms they should stay home until they feel better.
If you have any questions about how to respond to illness concerns in your child, please contact a health practitioner or call 811.
