Shea Mellow appointed vice-principal at Dr. Gerald B. Probe Elementary School

Lethbridge School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Shea Mellow as vice-principal at Dr. Gerald B. Probe Elementary School, commencing the 2025/2026 school year.
An educator with a passion for learning, relationships and leadership, Mellow’s educational career has been highlighted by decades of dedication towards those around her.
“It is a true honour to join the team at Dr. Gerald B. Probe Elementary School,” said Mellow. “I look forward to building genuine and meaningful connections with teachers, students and parents. I am excited to partner with the entire school community and do my part to contribute to a supportive, dynamic learning environment that fosters care, creativity, cooperation and courage.”
Mellow understands the importance of building trusting relationships, inspiring and empowering a coherent team and managing resources, which are the responsibilities of effective leadership.
“Throughout my various roles in education, I bring an unwavering commitment to building true community,” she said. “I am passionate about children and purpose, and I prioritize ensuring every child feels like they belong. In this new role, I will be dedicated to serving the families and staff as a partner in continuing the incredible education provided at Dr. Gerald B. Probe School.”
Mellow comes to Lethbridge School Division from her current role as principal in Livingstone Range School Division. Prior to that, Mellow held the position of Educational Developer at the University of Lethbridge. Mellow has also worked as a principal in Horizon School Division, where she also served as an instructional coach and a teacher, prior to her move to administration.
Mellow began her career as a teacher in Holy Spirit Catholic School Division.
She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts/Education from the University of Lethbridge, along with a Masters of Educational Leadership from the U of L.
Mellow also took home the Edwin Parr Award, which honours outstanding first-year teachers, and has twice been nominated for an Excellence in Teaching award.
