National Flag Day celebrated at Senator Joyce Fairbairn
The Royal Canadian Legion General Stewart Branch helped students at Senator Joyce Fairbairn Middle School mark National Flag Day.
The Legion's Glenn Miller spoke this morning to students about the flag and its history.
It was back on Feb. 15, 1965, when Canada's national flag was raised for the first time on Parliament Hill. In 1996, Feb. 15 was declared National Flag of Canada Day.
