Middle schools Rockin' for the Red Cross with fundraising concert

Three Lethbridge School Division middle schools joined forces for a fundraising concert for the Red Cross.
On Dec. 17, G.S. Lakie, Gilbert Paterson and Wilson middle schools co-hosted Rockin’ for the Red Cross.
The concert featured popular music bands from each school. The goal of the event was to raise money for the Red Cross and promote Popular Music Education classes occurring in the division at the middle school level.
“These programs are unique and truly are based in 21st century music education outcomes,” said Sheldon Avray, music education specialist at Lakie. “Many of these outcomes are exclusive to Lethbridge School Division.”
The concert raised $1,300 in total.
