Michelle Loveridge appointed vice-principal at Coalbanks Elementary School

Lethbridge School Division is pleased to announce Michelle Loveridge has been appointed vice-principal at Coalbanks Elementary School, commencing the 2021-22 school year.
Loveridge’s journey and experiences as an educator have molded her into an inclusive educator who sees every learner as a unique individual deserving of diverse and accessible learning environments where they are free to explore, create and grow as purposeful learners.
She has spent much of her career in elementary schools in both B.C. and Alberta and in varied capacities. Early on, she served as a Fine Arts Specialist where she became deeply passionate about inclusive education practices. From being a classroom teacher, and most recently a Learning Support Teacher, Loveridge has broadened her understanding and belief that educational teams have a shared responsibility to remove learning obstacles, teach to the heart and mind of each child and build deep relational connections where students can authentically thrive. 
“I am deeply honoured and thankful for this amazing opportunity to serve the students, staff and families of Coalbanks Elementary School as vice-principal,” said Loveridge. “I am excited to continue the often hard, but rewarding work of building inclusive practices, maintaining high learning standards for students, and partnering with my new Coalbanks team to bolster student success and engagement.”
Loveridge brings many years of experience as an elementary teacher and finds professional fulfillment in working alongside teaching teams where she offers professional learning at the school and division level as well as a teacher mentor.
Loveridge has a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Concordia University in Edmonton, a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta and earned her Master of Education in 2017 from Gonzaga University.
