Lisa Prawdzik appointed principal of Westminster Elementary School
Lethbridge School Division is pleased to announce Lisa Prawdzik has been appointed principal for Westminster Elementary School, commencing the 2024/2025 school year.
“It is an honour to return to Westminster in the role of principal and build on the solid foundation of diversity, inclusion and collaboration that has been carefully nurtured and built in this school,” said Prawdzik. “I look forward to working with the students, staff and the families of the Westminster community.”
She believes it is important to foster a supportive, collaborative and inclusive environment where students thrive, teachers are supported and parents are engaged, all while continuously striving for improvement and innovation.
Prawdzik began her career with the Division at Wilson Middle School, where she worked from 1997-1999. She taught Grade 3 to Grade 6 at Mike Mountain Horse Elementary School from 1999-2015.
A Secondment at the University of Lethbridge from 2015-2017 had Prawdzik work with the Faculty of Education, teaching Assessment to the undergraduate education students while completing her Master of Education.
From 2017-2019, Prawdzik returned to Wilson where she worked as Learning Support teacher and Life Skills teacher, before she made her way to Westminster from 2019-2023, where she served as vice-principal and Learning Support teacher.
Most recently, Prawdzik has been Principal of Carmangay School with Palliser School Division.
Prawdzik earned her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education at the U of L, and completed a Master of Education in Curriculum and Assessment, also at the U of L.
She also holds a Leader Qualifications Standard Certification from the University of Calgary.
