LCI hosts Truth and Reconciliation Day event
On Friday morning, the entire student body at Lethbridge Collegiate Institute made its way to the front lawn of the school, all dressed in orange shirts.
Every student was given a shirt to recognize Truth and Reconciliation Day. Shawnee Big Bull, the Division's Indigenous Education High School Teacher, spoke about the impact of the Residential School system, along with Truth and Reconciliation.
The Sept. 29 event was held in conjunction with the school's Blackfoot flag raising ceremony, which took place Sept. 21: FLAG RAISING.
