LCI hands out athletic awards for 2022/2023 season

Earlier this morning, Lethbridge Collegiate Institute handed out the school’s athletic awards for the 2022/2023 season. 
The award winners are as follows: 
- Competitor's Courage Award - This award is given to a male or female athlete who has faced adversity and demonstrates a heart of champion. Recipient: Portia Olsen 
- Gerry and Brian Stewart Cross Country Memorial Award is presented to the student with characteristics of hard work, dedication and commitment to Cross Country. Recipient: Marc Lebon-Volia 
- Green 2 Gold Award - Female An award earned by an LCI student who has displayed a combination of Growth, Grit, Respect, Responsibility, and Empathy throughout their time at LCI. The five characteristics must be present through academics and athletics. Recipient: AddRyison Lehbauer 
- Green 2 Gold Award- Male An award earned by an LCI student who has displayed a combination of Growth, Grit, Respect, Responsibility, and Empathy throughout their time at LCI. The five characteristics must be present through academics and athletics. Recipient: Hudson Procee 
- Grade 9 Female Athlete of the Year. Recipient: Shayla Thomas 
- Grade 9 Male Athlete of the Year. Recipient: Walker Low 
- Grade 10 Female Athlete of the Year. Recipient: Madison Kutsch 
- Grade 10 Male Athlete of the Year. Recipient: Nathan Morris 
- Grade 11 Female Athlete of the Year. Recipient: Autumn Wood 
- Grade 11 Male Athlete of the Year. Recipient: Carter Tanner 
- Grade 12 Female Athlete of the Year. Recipient: Peyton Smith 
- Grade 12 Male Athlete of the Year. Recipient: Blake Van Bruggen 
- Jim Whitelaw Award - This is awarded to the top male athlete at LCI. This is decided by the athletic council with the input given by the coaches. Recipient: Ryder Lowry 
- Marge M.J. Clark Award - This is awarded to the top female athlete at LCI. This is decided by the athletic council with the input given by the coaches. Recipient: Mishynn Miller 
- Pat Adams Memorial Scholarship- Female - Pat Adams exemplified the all-around student during his time at LCI. He was involved with the fine arts, sports and was the class president in Grade 12. This scholarship is given to a Grade 12 female and/or male student who has performed well in the areas of fine arts and/or athletics. This student exemplifies leadership and volunteerism in the LCI community. Recipient: Tamryn Bly 
- Pat Adams Memorial Scholarship- Male - Pat Adams exemplified the all around student during his time at LCI. He was involved with the fine arts, sports and was the class president in gr. 12. This scholarship is given to a gr. 12 female and/or male student who has performed well in the areas of fine arts and/or athletics. This student exemplifies leadership and volunteerism in the LCI community. Recipient: Ryder Lowry 
- Brock Ramias Citizen Athlete Scholarship - Brock Ramias Citizen Athlete Scholarship is awarded to the LCI student that most represents the heart, kindness, commitment, and determination to influence those around them in a positive way and an undying passion for “their game”. The recipient should be humble, genuine, embrace a love of life and fun. They must understand the importance of relationships, not only with close friends and families, but also with all individuals. This person must selflessly go the extra mile to help others in times of need and practice random acts of kindness. They must demonstrate a strong work ethic regardless of the challenges they face.
