LCI Arts Academy Dance program set to present BREAKTHROUGH
On Feb. 1 and 2, 2023, the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Arts Academy Dance program will present BREAKTHROUGH at the Yates Memorial Theatre.
BREAKTHROUGH brings together the transformative power of dance, and signifies discovering who we truly are, finding our voice and our passion again after a period of darkness. In this street-style heavy-show, the 85 insanely talented arts academy dancers will perform contemporary ballet, modern, locking, contemporary, hip-hop, house and breaking.
This year, LCI will present pieces by well-known local choreographers and highlight works from celebrated established Canadian choreographers such as:
- Raoul Wilke - Dora award winner from Holla Jazz and Moon Runners crew - Toronto, Ontario.
- Kaleb Tekeste - from Original Rudes and Decidedly Jazz Danceworks- Calgary Alberta
- Spicey and Nindy Pierre Louis - Ebnfloh and Bust Move fame – Montreal Canada
- Apple Rose Sulit and Goldie Wong from Universoul Dance - Calgary Alberta
- Lady C - Dora award winner, Ebnfloh Holla Jazz and Soul Shifters Crew
- Haley Van Rijn - Graduate of ITP in Vancouver, Source Dance Company, TwoFourSeven Company. Dance credits include Janet Jackson and Marianas Trench
- Mckeely Borger - Kelowna ballet- Kelowna B.C.
- Keiran Bohay - ITP and The Source, Vancouver B.C.
- Tessa Tamrura - Dancer and choreographer in film and television, B.C.
