Lakie's LUNA provides audiences with out of this world experience

LUNA, the G.S. Lakie Middle School dance production, took over the Yates Memorial Theatre last week.
The artistic journey through the galaxy included over 200 middle school performers from the G.S. Lakie dance and music programs.
Lakie collaborated with science teachers to make it an educational experience, which bridged the arts and science.
The school also had an exciting collaboration with Chris Hadfield himself, Canada’s first astronaut to walk in space. Hadfield agreed to make a personalized video, where he acknowledged G.S. Lakie students and sang a song while playing the guitar. The show also included four inspirational videos of Hadfield leading up to the moment, as he educated and inspired the audience with his wise words. He spoke about life challenges, overcoming fear and how he made is dreams come true.
