Ed-Venture Post-Secondary and Training Fair set for Nov. 21

On Nov. 21, Lethbridge School Division students in Grade 8 to Grade 12 will have an amazing opportunity to learn more about potential careers, along with post-secondary opportunities.
Career Transitions, along with Lethbridge Polytechnic and the University of Lethbridge, is set to host the Ed-Venture Post-Secondary and Training Fair.
The YMCA (140-74 Mauretania Road West) will host the fair from 5-8 p.m., an event that will feature three valuable presentations:
Financing Further Education (5:30 p.m.), Transitioning to Post-Secondary (6:30 p.m.) and keynote speaker and author of Manic Man, Jason Wegner (7:15 p.m.).
The fair is meant for anyone in the community who might be considering options to further their education and acquire skills to continue with their career pathway. Students and parents/guardians/caregivers from schools across Southwestern Alberta are invited, along with any recent high school graduates who may have taken a gap year and are still exploring their next steps.  Community members are also welcome to attend.
Whether you are employed, underemployed or simply interested in exploring options, the event will feature Alberta-based post-secondary institutions, along with schools from Nova Scotia, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Montana. Local training providers such as LC Extension, Training Inc, Alberta Apprenticeship, Gateway Safety Services and St. John Ambulance will also be in attendance, along with a number of programs and services available to help middle and high school students explore future opportunities.
There will be over 40 exhibitors in attendance, which means there should be something for everyone!
Student ambassadors from the U of L and Lethbridge Polytechnic will be sharing their experiences with Financing Further Education and Transitioning from High School to Post-Secondary.
Keynote speaker, Lethbridge's own Jason Wegner, a teacher, mental health advocate and, will be on hand to educate the community and inspire the audience with his story.
