Division pleased to support Esports Day at The Galt on Nov. 8

Lethbridge School Division is partnering with The Galt Museum & Archives for ESports Day at The Galt.
On Friday, Nov. 8, afternoon and evening sessions will be open to anyone wishing to learn more about the world of esports.
From 1-2 p.m., the Introduction to the World of ESports session will provide time for open questions regarding what esports is all about, and what it has become so popular.
The session will help debunk some of the misconceptions around the world of competitive esports and how it can be utilized to support today's generation.
Esports can be a fantastic way for kids to develop teamwork, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. It also provides a platform for them to connect with peers who share similar interests, to foster a sense of community and belonging.
From 6-9 p.m., sessions of games such as Super Smash Bros. and Rocket League will be on full display. Those looking to play some classic and current video games will also have opportunities to put their skills to the test.
A Super Smash Bros. tournament will take place in the evening. Walk-in registration for the tournament will take place between 6-6:30 p.m.
