Division hosts west Lethbridge elementary school boundary change open house

On April 30, Lethbridge School Division hosted a drop-in opportunity for members of the public to view the preliminary options to realign elementary school boundaries in west Lethbridge.
The open house was held at G.S. Lakie Middle School.
This represented the next stage in the process that has included multiple in-person engagement opportunities, the creation of a video which outlined the need to review and change boundaries along with an online survey.
The April 30 open house was an opportunity to see preliminary options that have been created to change west Lethbridge elementary school boundaries, effective for September 2025. These changes are designed to create boundaries for the new K-5 School in Garry Station, as well as address growth and capacity concerns at Mike Mountain Horse and Coalbanks Elementary Schools.
The open house was also an opportunity to provide feedback to the School Boundary Alignment Committee on the options and other necessary considerations prior to final recommendations to the Board of Trustees.
At the open house, participants had an opportunity to scan a QR code to access a quick survey available for members of the public. To take the West Lethbridge Elementary School Boundary Realignment Survey, please click on this link: SURVEY.
