Division hires for Extra-Curricular Lead Teacher positions

Lethbridge School Division is pleased to announce the following part-time temporary leadership positions.

Jonathan Dick started his career with Lethbridge School Division in 2006 when he joined the Winston Churchill High School community. Throughout his career Jonathan has always placed emphasis on building strong relationships and putting the needs of students first. Jonathan has extensive experience in extra-curricular activities.
He believes participation in extra-curricular activities allow educators to see students in a “different light” and helps them to reach their full potential.
His unique combination of knowledge, experience, training, and skills have made him a well-respected leader in his school community and beyond.
Jonathan will oversee all aspects of the Divisions focus on extra-curricular activities with particular emphasis on analysis of current extra-curricular practices, development of professional learning opportunities related to extra-curricular activities and enhancing welcoming, safe and inclusive environments in all our schools. Jonathan will also continue his responsibilities as athletic director part-time at Winston Churchill in addition to his part-time duties as extra-curricular lead teacher.

Billy Baum started his career with Lethbridge School Division in 2001 when he joined the staff at LCI. He currently teaches at Chinook High School. Billy has extensive experience in extra-curricular activities, with particular emphasis on coaching and character development. He is also a leader beyond extra-curricular activities. He has hosted collaborative communities, been active in professional learning committees, sat on the ATA political action committee and presented at SWATCA. Most importantly, Billy is a student-centered educator who believe in creating strong relationships with students, colleagues and community members.
Billy will support Jonathan in this work with particular emphasis on stakeholder engagement as well as framework planning and development. Billy will also continue teaching part time at Chinook High School in addition to his part-time duties as extra-curricular lead teacher.

Paul Bohnert started his career with Lethbridge School Division in 1997 at Winston Churchill. He also taught at Gilbert Paterson, G.S. Lakie and is currently a teacher at Senator Joyce Fairbairn. Paul has over 30 years of experience in extra-curricular activities including clubs, fine-arts and athletics. Paul also has extensive experience facilitating and delivering professional learning sessions provincially and nationally. In addition, Paul has created educational resources that are used by teachers across North America. Paul is committed to serving students and creating spaces where students, staff and others feel welcome, safe and included.
Paul will support Jonathan in this work with particular emphasis on resource development and professional learning. Paul will also continue teaching part-time at Senator Joyce Fairbairn, in addition to his part-time duties as extra-curricular lead teacher.

The purpose of these positions is to help the Division analyze and respond to potential gaps in how we educate, support, and supervise extra-curricular activities across the Division.
