Co-ordinator of Learning and International Education, Trish Syme, announces her retirement

Congratulations to Trish Syme, who announced she will be retiring at the end of January. Trish is a passionate educator, who cares deeply about creating meaningful relationships with students, staff and the larger community.
She has been instrumental in helping the Division develop a highly successful and respected International Education program. Beyond the International Education program, Trish has a very diverse portfolio which includes mentorship, policy and Occupational Health and Safety.
Her unique skill set, experience and adaptable nature allow her to effectively handle such a broad portfolio.
Trish has worked with Lethbridge School Division since 2008 and has served as a Vice-Principal at G.S. Lakie Middle School, Lethbridge Collegiate Institute and Victoria Park High School.
She currently works out of the Education Centre as Co-ordinator of Learning and International Education. Over the course of her career, Trish also taught internationally and with the Holy Spirit Catholic School Division.
She has a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta and a Master of Education degree from the University of Wollongong in Dubai.
“It has been an absolute pleasure to work in the Lethbridge School Division,” said Trish. “I have always been very proud to be part of the Division, and for the last few years to have represented the Division internationally. I want to thank all of my friends and colleagues who have made my educational journey fun and rewarding, and I want to thank Mike and the Executive Council for their leadership and continued support as I transition to the next phase of my life.”
Although she is retiring, Trish will be overseeing the International Education program for the Division on a part-time basis for the remainder of the school year.
We wish Trish all the best in this next chapter of her journey!
Thank you Trish for your dedication and commitment to students, staff, the Division and the communities we serve.
