Connie Adserballe appointed principal for Lakeview Elementary School

Lethbridge School Division is pleased to announce Connie Adserballe has been appointed principal for Lakeview Elementary School, commencing the 2021/2022 school year:
Adserballe’s leadership experience can be characterized as innovative and growth centered. She champions community and places relationship building grounded in trust as a priority. Connie possesses a clear vision of building a school that is student-centred and engaging. She believes in high standards and the importance of research-based decision making. A reflective leader, Connie challenges herself to grow as a learner and seeks to gain new perspectives.
“I am very excited to be joining the Lakeview Elementary School community and look forward to establishing strong and lasting relationships with students, staff and parents," said Adserballe. "I believe in creating inclusive and equitable spaces for all learners and I’m committed to nurturing a joyful school culture focused on student wellbeing. By taking learning beyond the school walls and providing outdoor experiences, I believe we can enrich student understanding of curricular outcomes while forming life-long connections to our natural spaces and places. As a mentor and lead learner, I am passionate about building strong foundational skills in literacy and numeracy and in creating meaningful, collaborative learning opportunities for teachers and support staff. A firm believer in shared leadership, I seek to build capacity within staff empowering them to be innovative, reflective practitioners. I am honoured and grateful for the opportunity to join the Lethbridge School Division and I’m looking forward to collaborating and learning alongside my new colleagues.”
Currently the principal at Sunnyside School, Adserballe’s leadership has contributed to the growth of a
school known for innovation and sound pedagogical practice in literacy and numeracy. Recognized for
her expertise in literacy, she also has leadership experience as a Division Literacy Coach. Her teaching
experience spans elementary, middle school, and high school grades.
Adserballe has been a guest speaker on the national panel for PHE Canada on Recess during COVID, a keynote panelist at the Shaping the Future conference, and an Alberta delegate at a national Workplace Wellbeing planning retreat.
Adserballe earned her Bachelor of Education degree with a major in English from the University of
Saskatchewan. She received her Masters of Education degree from the University of Lethbridge as part of a Masters Literacy Cohort.
