Opening ceremony kicks off 2A provincials at ICSS

The Alberta Schools’ Athletic Association 2A Provincial Championships are now underway at Immanuel Christian Secondary School.
The host Eagles team is the No. 1 seed after the girls took home the zone championship last weekend.
But before ICSS hits the court today at 5 p.m., the school hosted the opening ceremony.
A breakfast banquet kicked off the morning, which was followed by the official event.
Players were marshalled into the gym for the ceremony, which included musical performances and a demonstrations from Blackfoot hoop dancer Jerrhan First Charger, who recently won third place in the Teen Division at the 2024 World Championships in Arizona.
Lethbridge School Division Superintendent Mike Nightingale also addressed the participants in the morning ceremony, just before the first game was set for 11 a.m.
The Eagles play today at 5 p.m., against the winner of this morning's game that featured Central Alberta Christian and Oilfields.
