Buses will be operational for Tuesday as schools are open as per usual

Southland Transportation Ltd. has informed us buses will be operational on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024.
Schools throughout Lethbridge School Division will be open on Tuesday, as per usual, with the exception of Chinook High School, as the Division assesses the damages and continues the clean-up effort following a water-related incident at Chinook on the weekend. Communication regarding this week’s operations at Chinook will be sent out to parents/caregivers later today.
The forecast for Lethbridge is expected to improve this week, and we do not anticipate any further disruptions in bus service for the remainder of the week. However, weather conditions can change quickly in southern Alberta, and the Division will provide further updates if necessary.
During the winter, roads may also be congested and slippery resulting in possible traffic and bus delays. Unusually cold or stormy weather can result in buses being delayed. Use the MyBusStop app or check My School Bus Monitor for messages on delays. Unexpected mechanical problems with buses may also occur more frequently this time of year.

This notice does not impact students who attend Immanuel Christian Elementary School, Immanuel Christian Secondary School or Lethbridge Christian School, as those schools do not utilize Southland for bus transportation.
