Tyler Smith makes presentations to Division schools for Green Shirt Day

Tyler Smith, a mental health advocate, Humboldt Broncos crash survivor and Amazing Race Canada winner, was in Lethbridge on March 28 for two Green Shirt Day presentations at Division schools.
Winston Churchill High School hosted Smith in the morning, while G.S. Lakie Middle School held an afternoon event.
Smith and his partner, Kat Kastner, came out on top of a tight final leg to become the winners of Amazing Race Canada Season 9, as Team #TyKat captured the hearts of Canadians.
He was also a survivor of the April 6, 2018 bus crash that claimed the lives of 16, which included Lethbridge’s Logan Boulet. Smith physically recovered and returned to play 10 games for the Broncos but eventually stepped away from the game to prioritize his mental recovery.
Logan’s father, Toby, introduced Smith at both schools and highlighted Smith's connection to both Logan and Green Shirt Day.
“Tyler coming to Logan's middle and high schools to speak about Green Shirt Day and his relationship with Logan, woven with his message on mental health is very powerful,” said Toby Boulet.
