Police have resolved the situation at Immanuel Christian Elementary School

Earlier today, the Lethbridge Police Service responded to a suspicious package near Immanuel Christian Elementary School.
The police have resolved the situation and indicated school operations can return to normal.
We want to assure you that staff and students are safe, and ICES will operate as normal throughout the rest of the afternoon.
As a result of the suspicious package, ICES initiated a perimeter secure around noon. The perimeter secure was in place until approximately 1:30 p.m.
During a perimeter secure, school doors that lead outside are all locked, and students are not permitted to go outside of the building.
Parents/guardians/caregivers who are picking up students at the end of the day can proceed as normal.
We take every precaution to ensure the safety of our students and staff, and in this case, the perimeter secure was initiated out of an abundance of caution.
If you are a parent/guardian/caregiver of a student at ICES, please contact school administration if you have further questions or concerns.
We understand these situations can cause concern and uncertainty. We want to reassure you that our actions were precautionary in nature.
