Nicole Garlock appointed vice-principal at Galbraith Elementary School

Lethbridge School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicole Garlock as vice-principal at Galbraith Elementary School, commencing the 2025/2026 school year.
Garlock’s identity as an educator and school leader is driven by an unwavering commitment to the belief that all people — whether they are students, staff, families or other members of learning communities, do well when they are given the resources, opportunities and confidence to do so.
She possesses a breadth of experience and a strong reputation in the areas of relationship building, educational psychology/neuroscience, STEAM, evidence-based instruction, instructional leadership and fine arts education.
“I am incredibly humbled to be moving into the position of vice-principal at Galbraith Elementary School this fall,” said Garlock. “The staff, students and families of Galbraith have long been a profound part of my teaching and leading journey, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to take this next step forward as part of this learning community.”
Garlock has worked at Galbraith for the past nine years as a vice-principal, Learning Support teacher and music teacher. Prior to her time at Galbraith, Garlock taught at Mike Mountain Horse Elementary School.
She has also been the conductor of the University of Lethbridge Children’s Choir since 2014.
Throughout her time with the Division, Garlock has displayed a passion for building learning communities that listen to, advocate for and respect the needs of all students.
“As an educator, I believe that magic happens when you see the good in people, support others to do their best and dream big,” said Garlock. “It is my hope that as vice-principal at Galbraith, I will be able to further lean into bringing this philosophy to the forefront of our school.”
Garlock has a Master of Education from the University of Calgary, with a research focus on educational neuroscience/psychology and school leadership, along with a Bachelor of Education from the University of Lethbridge and a Bachelor of Music, also from the U of L.
