Indigenous Graduation event honours students from four Division high schools

On Tuesday, May 20, Winston Churchill High School hosted the Lethbridge School Division Indigenous Graduation event.
In total, 46 graduates were recognized at a ceremony that included a grand march and honour song, along with a Blackfoot prayer from Sturgis Big Bull.
An Elder Address from Chief Travis Plaited Hair, speeches from Superintendent Mike Nightingale and Board Chair Christine Light and a keynote address from Tyler Swag helped round out the evening.
Each graduating student from Chinook High School, Lethbridge Collegiate Institute, Victoria Park High School and Winston Churchill High School received gifts as part of the event.
