WCHS rugby teams capture provincial gold medals

It was a golden weekend for Winston Churchill High School in Edmonton.
Both the boys and girls rugby teams returned from the capital city with Tier 2 provincial championships at the Alberta Schools Athletic Association Rugby XVs Provincials.
The WCHS teams both earned gold with championship wins over Sturgeon Composite, as the boys played a one game, winner-take-all contest for first, and came away with a 36-24 victory.
The girls needed a 33-0 win over Notre Dame and a tight 22-19 victory over Holy Trinity to advance to the final, as WCHS emerged with a 26-19 win over Sturgeon.
