Bullying Awareness week Nov. 16-20 features theme, Where to Turn

This year’s Bullying Awareness Week is Nov. 16‑20, with the theme, Where to Turn.
During Bullying Awareness Week, staff, student leaders and parent volunteers are enouraged to take the online Respect in School training. Announced last December, the program includes learning resource to help prevent abuse, bullying, harassment and discrimination in school. Alberta Education has made this training accessible to all school authorities and education stakeholders in Alberta, and it can be accessed here.

Staff, students or parents who require help or information regarding bullying or abuse can call trained staff at any time of day, or chat online from noon to 8:00 p.m. at alberta.ca/bullying-find-supports.aspx. The Bullying Helpline (1‑888‑456‑2323) is available 24 hours, seven days a week, and offers help in more than 170 languages. Online chats and calls to the helpline are anonymous.
