Bonnie Dyck appointed acting vice-principal at LCI

Lethbridge School Division is pleased to announce Bonnie Dyck has been appointed acting vice-principal at Lethbridge Collegiate Institute, commencing the 2021/2022 school year. 
Dyck joins Lethbridge School Division with a breadth of teaching experience across the secondary grades in different subject areas. She believes in relationship-centred leadership and a team­-oriented approach to building the capacity of staff. Trust is foundational to creating a welcoming and safe climate for all students and staff.  
Dyck sees this the first priority when entering a new context. 
She views collaboration as key to building shared vision and collective ownership of growth.  
Dyck is known for going above and beyond in the school communities she has served with providing opportunities for students and spearheading school community events. 
"I am both honoured and thrilled by the opportunity to become port of the LCI team including students, staff and parents,” said Dyck. I look forward to working collaboratively with staff to further student achievement, innovation, and inclusion within Lethbridge School Division. I believe in helping students find success by creating meaningful learning experiences in on environment where students feel safe and welcome. I om excited to build into and become a part of the LC/ community." 
Currently the Learning Support Teacher at R.I. Baker Middles School, Dyck is well-versed in the inclusion portfolio. Her experience has contributed to a sound understanding of universal strategies that support all student learning as well as accommodations that provide access points to curriculum for students. She has training in assessment and professional learning around resiliency and recovery.  
Dyck has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Augustana University College, a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Lethbridge, and is working on her Masters of Educational Leadership with the University of Lethbridge.
