2022 ASAA Provincial Curling Championship begins Thursday

Two Lethbridge School Division high schools are set to compete this week for the 2022 ASAA Provincial Curling Championship.
The host Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Clippers and Rams will have teams in the girls, mixed and boys draws of the event, while Chinook High School will compete in the girls and boys draws. Everything gets underway on Thursday at the ATB Centre, home of the Lethbridge Curling Club.
Draw 1 is set for 9 a.m. as the LCI girls will take on Chestermere on Sheet 3 and the LCI mixed team will face George McDougall on Sheet 7.
At noon during Draw 2, LCI’s mixed squad will take on Harry Ainlay on Sheet 2 and the LCI boys will battle Cochrane on Sheet 8.
For Chinook, Thursday’s action includes a 9 a.m. game in Draw 1 for the girls against Lacombe on Sheet 2. Chinook’s boys team will play in Draw 2 at noon against J.R. Robson on Sheet 9.
Draw 3 on Thursday goes at 3:30 p.m. and will feature the LCI girls and Salisbury on Sheet 2, while the LCI boys play McNally on Sheet 9.
Chinook will play Sundre on Sheet 1 in girls play and the Coyotes boys team will play Holy Rosary on Sheet 8 to wrap up Draw 3.
Friday at 8:30 a.m. will see the first games of Draw 4, as the LCI girls play Morinville on Sheet 10 and the LCI mixed team takes on Beaverlodge on Sheet 3.
Chinook’s two teams will also compete at 8:30 a.m.., as the girls play St. Paul on Sheet 7 and the boys play Warner on Sheet 1.
The 1:45 p.m. games in Draw 5 see all three LCI teams play, as the girls battle Sexsmith on Sheet 2, the mixed team meets Barrhead on Sheet 10 and the boys compete against Sexsmith on Sheet 8.
Draw 5 continues with Chinook versus OLMP on Sheet 10 for the girls and the Chinook boys taking on Lindsay Thurber on Sheet 7.
At 4:45 p.m., Draw 6 will commence, as the LCI boys will wrap up pool play against Redwater on Sheet 3.
Should tiebreakers be required, four-end games will take place Saturday at 8:30 a.m., before the semifinal match-ups will take place at 10 a.m.
The bronze and gold-medal games will all be played at 1:30 p.m.
