At-Home Learning for Students at Winston Churchill High School starting Monday, March 29

As communicated in Lethbridge School Division COVID-19 Re-entry Plan, the safety and well-being of students and staff is one of our most important priorities.
A the number of positive COVID-19 cases have been identified at Winston Churchill High School and subsequently, a number of staff and students are in quarantine as an outcome of being identified as close contacts by Alberta Health Services.
With the number of students and staff required to be in isolation, Winston Churchill is not able to adequately deliver educational programming at the school at this time in a safe and efficient manner.
Lethbridge School Division has consulted with the Ministry of Education about the need to Winston Churchill to Scenario 3 (at-home learning), and this plan has been approved by the Ministry.
Beginning on Monday, March 29, 2021, all classes at Winston Churchill will move to at-home learning until Easter break. The school will use the on-line delivery platform. Attendance is mandatory and teachers will continue to provide quality learning opportunities for students.
The Division is aware moving to at-home learning with very short notice may cause significant pressure on families, and apologizes for the short notice. However, as mentioned, the Division needs to keep the health and safety of our students and staff at the forefront of decision-making.
