LCI boys take bronze medal in 2020 ASAA Curling Provincials

Lethbridge Collegiate Institute picked up one medal on the weekend in the 2020 ASAA Curling Provincials, held in Lethbridge.
The Rams took bronze in the boys division, after a 9-5 win over Edwin Parr.
LCI’s girls team came up just short of bronze, as St. Paul Regional defeated LCI 6-5 in the third-place game.
The LCI boys defeated Cremona 7-5 during the first draw and went on to beat Archbishop Jordan 7-4 in the third draw. In draw 4, the Rams earned a 7-5 win over Edwin Parr, and followed that up with a 6-4 win over Sexsmith in draw 5.
LCI’s undefeated run ended with a 5-4 loss in the semifinal to Henry Wise Wood.
The LCI girls also had a successful run in preliminary round play, which began with a 7-5 win over Cochrane in draw 1. LCI followed that up with a 9-5 win over Harry Ainlay in draw 3 and an 11-2 win over Hillside in draw 4. A 5-4 loss in draw 5 was LCI’s only loss, until a tight 7-6 defeat at the hands of St. Paul Regional in the semis.
LCI’s mixed team went 1-3 in the tournament, while Chinook High School’s boys team went 2-2.
