Dawn Ronne appointed principal at Lakeview Elementary School

Lethbridge School District No. 51 is pleased to announce Dawn Ronne has been appointed principal at Lakeview Elementary School, commencing the 2018/2019 school year.

Ronne’s breadth of experience as a school administrator is characterized by student-centred decision making, strong instructional leadership and collaborative processes with staff, parents and community. Ronne is familiar with diverse populations and understands the flexibility and commitment required to meet student learning needs. She holds the strong belief parents are the primary educators, and unwavering support for home-school collaboration is foundational.

Ronne’s leadership is centred on the belief all students can be successful, and that a skilled and supported teacher is the best strategy for student success.

She is passionate about literacy and numeracy as key components of an elementary education. She also encourages innovation and supports best practice in the classroom as a strong instruction leader.

Ronne is known to be a strong communicator and a principal that focuses on relationship building. She encourages distributed leadership among staff and parents. 

“I am pleased to be working with the staff and students of Lakeview Elementary School,” said Ronne. “I am committed to developing the learning potential and promoting leadership qualities of all students. I am looking forward to being a part of the strong school community and the continued development of an already exceptional school.”

Ronne has been a principal at three elementary schools over the past 12 years, with her most recent assignment at Senator Buchanan Elementary School in Lethbridge School District No. 51. Described as a master teacher, she has had the designation of Consulting Teacher in literacy, and a number of years of experience as an elementary teacher at different schools.

Dawn completed a B. Ed. Degree with Early Childhood Specialization. She completed her Master of Educational Leadership degree at the University of Lethbridge.
