51st Annual Green and Gold Varsity Girls Basketball Tournament kicks off Friday

It will be a busy weekend of basketball at Lethbridge Collegiate Institute.

The Clippers will host the 51st Annual Green and Gold Varsity Girls Basketball Tournament, which kicks off Friday.

Everything gets underway at 1 p.m., as LCI will take on George McDougall at 1 p.m. That will be followed by the 3 p.m., which will see Western Canada take on Medicine Hat High.

Friday’s slate continues with a 5 p.m. game that features Bishop Carroll and Raymond, followed by the 7 p.m. game that will see Magrath and St. Albert battle it out.

Saturday’s game action begins with a pair of 9 a.m. contests, when the losers of the four Friday games will meet in the consolation semifinals, which will be played at LCI and Catholic Central.

The semifinals in the championship side of the draw will be played at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., both at LCI. LCI will play in the 11 a.m. game, should the Clippers win the opener against George McDougall.

Consolation final action will tip off at 3 p.m., while the championship final has been set for 7 p.m.

The third-place game will be held at 5 p.m., and the seventh-place game will be played at 1 p.m. at Catholic Central.
