Chinook volleyball teams take SAHSVL regular-season championships

Chinook High School teams have won two Southern Alberta High School Volleyball League regular season championships.

The Coyotes took the Varsity Girls and Junior Varsity Girls titles, as neither team dropped a regular-season match.

The senior team went a perfect 11-0, to finish just above Lethbridge Collegiate Institute, which posted a mark of 10-1. Winston Churchill was 7-4, good enough for a fourth-place tie with W.R. Myers, while Immanuel Christian posted a 0-11 record.

Chinook junior girls team was 8-0, ahead of second-place Raymond at 6-2. LCI finished at 4-4 and WCHS was 0-8.

The Junior Varsity Girls playoff tournament goes Friday and Saturday (Nov. 3-4) at Catholic Central Campus West. Varsity Girls run next Thursday to Saturday, (Nov. 9-11), at Picture Butte

Varsity Boys league play wrapped up with LCI in second at 8-1, Chinook in fourth at 6-3, ICSS in sixth a 4-5 and WCHS in ninth at 2-7.

The Junior Varsity Boys standing have LCI in second a 6-1, Chinook in a three-way tie for third at 4-3, WCHS at 2-5 and ICSS at 1-6.

Junior Varsity Boys playoffs are Saturday (Nov. 4) at Cardston, while the Varsity Boys playoffs are next Friday and Saturday, (Nov. 10-11) at LCI.
