Coalbanks Elementary School open house set for Wednesday, April 26
Coalbanks Elementary School is set to open for the 2017/2018 school year.
With that in mind, an open house has been planned for April 26 from 6:30-7:30 p.m., to provide members of the community information on everything they need to know about the new school. The open house will be held inside the commons area at Coalbanks Elementary School, located at 230 Coalbanks Boulevard West.
The school’s administrative team, led by principal Joey Gentile, will be introduced, along with the rest of the Coalbanks staff.
Parents will have the opportunity to tour the building, learn more about the process of creating the Coalbanks vision and mission statements and will have an opportunity to learn more about the school’s handbook, which is currently under development.
Coalbanks staff will provide an overview of the school philosophy (Where Kids Always Come First), goals and priorities, and announce the details of a mascot contest. A Create the Coalbanks Mascot Contest will the launched this spring, as students will be able to submit and vote on submissions from April 25-28.
The history behind the school’s name will also be covered, along with information as to how parents can keep up to date with everything surrounding the school through the use of communication methods like social media, newsletters and email.
The school website, www.cb.lethsd.ab.ca, will also act as a constant source of information, as parents will also have the opportunity to sign up for the Coalbanks e-newsletter, by visiting www.cb.lethsd.ab.ca/newsletter.php
Parents will also learn about the school’s goals and priorities, and how to get involved in the Coalbanks school council, as an annual general meeting will be scheduled sometime in June.
