Digital Video Streaming and Digital Content

Starting in September 2010 the District will host three digital streaming/content servers for schools access.  Discovery Streaming, Access 360 and the National Film Board content databases will be available under license to teachers and staff.  To accommodate streaming from the district headend to schools a number of foundational strategies will be implemented:

  • Upgrading elementary school SuperNet bandwidth to 100/20
  • Upgrading the NOC headend bandwidth to 1000/200
  • Upgrading the Internet feed to 60Mbps FD

This project provides digital content to the District’s 21st Century classroom (442 in total) and aligns to the District’s ET Leadership research project and to the District’s AISI Cycle IV project.
